About the Author:

Marcus T. Holbert

Marcus Tremaine Holbert is a historian with a profound passion for exploring the complexities of ancient civilizations and their enduring impact on the modern world. With a Master of Arts in Global History from Arizona State University, Marcus brings a comprehensive understanding of historical narratives and their global contexts to his research and writing. His academic journey has been marked by a dedication to uncovering the hidden threads that connect our past to our present, with a particular focus on ancient Mesopotamian cultures and the enigmatic Anunnaki.

Educational Background: Marcus earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, where he cultivated a deep interest in the ancient world. His academic work has been complemented by practical experience in political communications, gained through a prestigious Congressional Press Internship in the Office of Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard during her 2019 Presidential campaign. This experience honed his skills in strategic communications and research, which he now applies to his historical investigations.

A Journey of Resilience and Discovery: Born in San Diego and raised in Vacaville, California, Marcus's early life was defined by his athletic prowess. He attended Will C. Wood High School, where he excelled in football and basketball, earning a full football scholarship to Azusa Pacific University. As a right tackle for Azusa Pacific, Marcus’s football career was cut short due to spinal injuries, a challenging experience that redirected his focus toward coaching and eventually, a deeper pursuit of academic excellence.

Under the mentorship of NFL Hall of Famer Jackie Slater, Marcus spent two years coaching offensive line at Azusa Pacific University. Despite the setbacks, his resilience and determination saw him return to academia, completing his undergraduate degree after transferring to the University of Hawai'i. His time in Hawaii was not just academically enriching but also politically engaging, further broadening his understanding of global dynamics.

Research and Writing: Marcus’s research interests are diverse, ranging from the myths and legends of ancient civilizations to contemporary global history. His work is characterized by a rigorous approach to data analysis and a commitment to uncovering the layers of history that shape our understanding of the world today. At Anu World History, Marcus combines scholarly research with a passion for storytelling, making complex historical concepts accessible to a wider audience.

Anu World History: Marcus founded Anu World History to share his insights and engage with others who are fascinated by the mysteries of the ancient world. Through his writing, he aims to bridge the gap between traditional historical scholarship and alternative theories, inviting readers to explore the past with curiosity and an open mind. Whether you’re a fellow historian, a student, or simply someone with a keen interest in ancient history, Marcus welcomes you to join him on this journey of discovery.

Education

2022-2024

Masters of Arts in Global History
Arizona State University

My Academic Journey at ASU

I earned my Master of Arts in Global History from Arizona State University, where I focused on the complex interactions between diverse cultures throughout history. My studies were marked by an in-depth exploration of the ways in which knowledge, particularly in the fields of science and medicine, was transferred and transformed across civilizations. This interdisciplinary approach provided me with a strong foundation in research, critical analysis, and the synthesis of historical narratives, skills that are integral to my current work with Anu World.

Capstone Project:Bridging Cultures in Medieval MedicineMy capstone project, titled "Transformative Nexus: The Role of Toledo and Salerno in the Exchange of Medical Knowledge Between Islamic and European Civilizations (1050-1200 CE)," explored the pivotal roles of Toledo, Spain, and Salerno, Italy, as centers for the translation and integration of medical knowledge during the 10th and 11th centuries. This period was a transformative moment in European medical history, where the translation of Arabic medical texts into Latin not only transferred knowledge but also sparked significant shifts in European medical paradigms.

Through my research, I examined how these cities became epicenters of intellectual exchange, where Islamic and European medical traditions not only intersected but also collaboratively evolved. This work challenges the conventional Eurocentric narrative by highlighting the sophisticated scientific inquiry in the medieval Islamic world and its profound influence on European medicine. By doing so, my project underscores the importance of cross-cultural exchanges in shaping global knowledge systems.

Connecting Historical Research to Anu World

The insights gained from my capstone project are directly relevant to the work I do today with Anu World. Just as my research emphasized the importance of intercultural exchanges in the evolution of medical knowledge, my current focus is on exploring the intersections between ancient civilizations and the broader mysteries of human history. The Anunnaki and the complex mythologies surrounding them represent another form of knowledge transmission—one that may bridge the gap between history and myth, and possibly, between terrestrial and extraterrestrial influences.

My background in global history allows me to approach these topics with a nuanced perspective, recognizing the value of both scholarly research and alternative theories. At Anu World, I strive to blend rigorous academic inquiry with open-minded exploration, much like the scholars of Toledo and Salerno who sought to integrate diverse medical traditions. This approach not only enriches our understanding of the past but also challenges contemporary narratives, encouraging a broader and more inclusive view of history.

Bachelors of Arts in History
University of Hawai'i at Manoa

My Academic Journey at UH Manoa

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, an experience that profoundly shaped my worldview and broadened my understanding of global cultures. Living and studying in Hawaii, I was immersed in a diverse environment where I had the privilege of connecting with people from all over the world. This exposure to different perspectives not only enriched my academic studies but also deepened my appreciation for the interconnectedness of global histories.

Cultural and Spiritual Awakening

During my time at UH Manoa, I experienced a spiritual awakening that opened my mind to the possibility of Anunnaki influence throughout world history. The rich cultural heritage of Hawaii, combined with the unique blend of indigenous and global traditions, provided the perfect backdrop for this transformative experience. It was here that I began to explore ancient myths and legends with a new perspective, considering how these stories might connect to broader historical narratives and perhaps even extraterrestrial influences.

Environmental Awareness

Hawaii’s stunning natural environment also heightened my awareness of the pressing environmental issues facing our planet. This newfound consciousness led me to explore the historical roots of these challenges, particularly how different cultures have interacted with their environments over time.

My academic journey at UH Manoa was further enriched by a political internship with Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard during her 2019 Presidential campaign. This experience, including a semester in Washington, D.C., as her Press Intern, honed my skills in strategic communications and research, while also giving me a firsthand look at the intersection of politics, policy, and global issues.
